• Adjust the heating or air conditioning system to avoid blurring the windows  

• Adjust your "steering wheel behavior" to any current conditions. A wet road parameter significantly increases the immobilization distance, which requires you to increase the distance that separates you from the vehicle in front, and maintain a proportionally low speed.  

• Move as much as possible where the road is drier. If you are driving next to a sidewalk, drive carefully without soaking the pedestrians. In case you see water with a great depth or a strong flow, avoid the so called “Irish crossing”.  

• We drive with the headlights on, even if it is daytime.  

• Do not turn on the fog lamps if there is no fog. It's simple! Otherwise we would call them rain lights.  

• In case of immobilization during torrential rain, you should not open the hood of your car, preventing it from any damage to the electrical systems.  

The grooves of your tires remove the water flowing in- between the tread and the road surface, to ensure traction. However, if the speed of the car in combination with the amount of water on the road exceeds the drainage capabilities of the tire, then a thin layer of water is inserted between the tire and the road, resulting in the car slipping with zero traction. This is called aquaplaning.  

• Avoid sudden reactions and stay calm.  

• If, after driving in deep waters, the engine shuts down, do not attempt to restart it, as this may cause mechanical damage. 

• Call roadside assistance
